The organization of Departments of the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis, is governed by Decree 89-1939 of December 14, 1989 (Section VII, articles 35-39), relating to the organization of universities and higher education and scientific research establishments . Each department has a Department Council composed from 5 members of grade A and 5 members of grade B elected by their peers from the Department, for a period of 3 years.
The Director of the Department is elected by the members of the Department Council for a period of 3 years renewable only once.
The department includes several related specialties, each of which is organized into sections.
SECTIONS
The Sections are internal structures of the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis, representing each of the specialties forming the Departments. A Section coordinator is appointed for a period of 3 years renewable by all the members of the specialty, among the members of grade A.
The mission of the Section is to manage the teaching of its specialty within the framework of the Themes and Certificates program of the 1st and 2nd cycles of medical education. The Faculty Sections are distributed as follows:
